|Panzon's Restaurant's Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Special Olympians is Sunday, April 24|
Panzon’s Mexican Restaurant, located at 8710 Lackman Road, Lenexa, will hold its eighth annual fundraiser to benefit the Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s Special Olympics Program from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 24.
For this event, the restaurant offers a taco dinner plate featuring three tacos, beans, rice, chips and a drink for $7. Guacamole, cheese sauce, and alcoholic beverages are available for an additional charge. In addition, a number of items from local merchants will be raffled off during this time.
Restaurant employees donate their time and Panzon’s opens early on this day and donates the food and all proceeds to Special Olympics. In 2004, the three-hour event raised more than $7,500. This is one of the program’s two major annual fundraisers and proceeds are used to help with the cost of out-of-town Special Olympics trips.
Dinner tickets can be purchased in advance from Special Populations Director Greg Weis, (913) 831-3355 ext. 252, or are also available at the door on the day of the event.
