|Cat. 3B Pesticide Recertification Seminar is March 16|
A full-day training seminar on Pesticide Application Recertification is being offered on March 16 by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District's Parks and Golf Courses Division.
Following sign-in from 7 to 8 a.m, the seminar will take place from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Green Room at the Heritage Park Golf Course, 16445 South Lackman Road, Olathe.
The seminar will specifically address Pesticides in Category 3 Subcategory B. The core topic of the session is: Enforcement Concerns and Compliance Problems. Speakers will include turf experts from throughout the area. Topics to be covered include: Reading and Understanding Labels; Identifying Insect and Non-Insect Pests on Turf and their Biology and Control; Effects of Weather and the Environment on Pesticide Applications; New Products and Equipment; Applicator Safety During Pesticide Mixing, Loading and Application; and Cultural Practices for Control of Pests on Turf. Additional time will be available for filling out state forms at the end of the presentations. The seminar is open to all interested parties including employees of area municipalities and other agencies.
