|JCPRD Donates Soccer Equipment for Troops Stationed in Kosovo|
The Johnson County Park and Recreation District recently donated soccer equipment for use by U.S. Troops stationed in Kosovo, Yugoslavia.
In response to a request from a former District employee who is among those stationed in Kosovo, the agency donated four goal nets, about two dozen balls, and two youth coach packages, JCPRD Sports and Facilities Manager Jim Armstrong said.
"We had four used nets that came from Heritage Soccer Park that we don’t use any longer," Armstrong said. "We also had some extra soccer balls - where they were used and/or new and were leftovers from our youth soccer program at Stoll Park".
The youth coach packages, which include cones and a pump, were among in-kind services from a former sponsor.
Arrangements for transporting the donation to Kosovo are still being made.
