Rain Barrel Workshop for adults offered on April 13
POSTED: 03/20/2013

April showers bring May flowers! Save water and money by learning to harvest rainwater from your rooftop during a workshop being offered at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District's Ernie Miller Nature Center in mid-April.

The program is called the Rain Barrel Workshop and is for ages 18 and older. Participants will construct a rain barrel and learn how to hook it up when they get home. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, look under adult and then under nature and outdoors. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “go green.”

This one-session program is offered at the Ernie Miller Nature Center, 909 N. Kansas 7 Highway, Olathe, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13. The cost for one 60-minute session, including all materials, is $45 per person for Johnson County residents or $50 for nonresidents. Preregistration is required.

The JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information about this program, call Park Naturalist Andrea Johnson at (913) 826-2806. To register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, see the district's website at www.jcprd.com.
