|Outdoor Skills Day is Oct. 2 at TimberRidge Adventure Center|
Learn survival tips for the wilderness through a program being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
The fourth-annual Outdoor Skills Day will take place on Oct. 2 at the TimberRidge Adventure Center, 12300 South Homestead Lane, Olathe. During this three-hour clinic, participants can take part in archery lessons, fire building, campfire cooking, shelter building, and take an outdoor challenge test.
This program is being offered beginning at 9 a.m. and again at 1 p.m., both on Saturday, Oct. 2. The cost for one three-hour session is $5 per person for Johnson County residents or $6 for nonresidents. Preregistration is required.
The TimberRidge Adventure Center is a 200+ acre facility which opened in early 2002. The facility is adjacent to the Johnson County Park and Recreation District's newest regional park, Kill Creek Park. TimberRidge offers a variety of adventure and challenge programming and rental opportunities. TimberRidge Adventure Center has a separate entrance located south of the main entrance to Kill Creek Park.
