|Sept. 25 Open House Set to Celebrate Nature Center Expansion|
Come out and help celebrate the recent expansion of Ernie Miller Nature Center, 909 N. Kansas-7 Highway, Olathe, during an open house planned for the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 25.
Completed earlier this year, the expansion project effectively doubled the facility’s square footage and brings the center’s space to approximately 11,000 square feet. This is the first addition to the center, which first opened in 1985, since 1992. New features added by the expansion include new multipurpose, exhibit, and wildlife viewing rooms, as well as a 500-gallon fish tank featuring native fish.
Be our guest and join staff and volunteers in celebrating the new addition during our Open House which will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.. This free event will feature tours, wildlife presentations, storytelling, and hands-on activities for all ages.
The nature center is owned and operated by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District. For more information, contact the Nature Center at (913) 764-7759.
