Portion of Mill Creek Streamway Park to close July 20 and 21
POSTED: 07/02/2004
Johnson County Park and Recreation District officials have announced that a section of a popular hiking and biking trail will be closed for two days in late July for maintenance.

Scheduled for closure on July 20 and 21 is a 2.5-mile portion of the Mill Creek Streamway Park's Gary L. Haller Trail stretching between the 95th Street and Northwind Trails Access Points. The closure also includes the access points themselves.

During these two days, maintenance crews will apply a seal coating to the trail as part of onging maintenance efforts. Mill Creek Streamway Park Manager Eddie Coffey said a portion of the trail is resealed each year resulting in a complete trail overlay every three to four years.

Coffey said this work is weather-dependant and will be rescheduled if necessary due to inclement weather.

During this work, the remaining 14.5 miles of the Gary L. Haller Trail will be open for use.
