Celebrate Girl Scouts founder during March 24 event at Ernie Miller Nature Center
POSTED: 03/01/2018
Through an interpretive presentation, come meet a woman who loved adventure and nature and believed the radical notion that girls should go camping.

This special event, called Juliette's Dream, is being planned at the Ernie Miller Nature Center on Saturday, March 24, to celebrate the life of Juliette Gordon Low, founder of the Girl Scouts.

In 1912, this spirited woman, nicknamed "Daisy" by her family, introduced girl scouting to American girls. She wanted girls to dream big! Celebrate 106 years of Girl Scouts with a salute to the founder with an original presentation honoring her life. Low's dream was to build bridges of understanding to promote world peace and international friendship. Her heart's desire was for girls to have opportunities to develop courage, confidence, and friendship. This event includes an appearance by interpreter and award-winning Senior Park Naturalist Molly Postlewait, who will portray Low and talk about her childhood favorites and inspirations.
