|Newly-announced Spring Fastpitch Coaches Clinic set for March 22|
Head coaches and assistant coaches are invited to register for a pre-season coaches clinic being planned at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District's Okun Fieldhouse in Shawnee in late March.
This Spring Fastpitch Coaches Clinic is for ages 18 and older, and will be directed by Coach Jay Bredwell, who will share knowledge from decades of coaching and officiating. Beginner softball coaches will explore best practices for managing all aspects of a team, including, but not limited to, understanding rules, developing effective practice plans with fundamental core drills, creating offensive and defensive lineups, recording scorebook data, establishing team budgets, guiding team staff (assistants, volunteers, players, and parents), and interacting with officials.
This clinic was not in the January through April My JCPRD Activities catalog and was recently added to the course lineup.
This program will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, in the Multipurpose Room at the Okun Fieldhouse, located inside the Mid-America West Sports Complex, at 20200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee. The cost for one two-hour session is $30 per person. For more information or to register by phone, call (913) 831-3359.
