Seven Next Kids' Day Out sessions at Johnson County Museum set for March

Youth ages five to 12 are invited to come have fun at the Johnson County Museum during any or all of seven days in March when school is out early spring!

During these Kids' Day Out Programs, participants can choose from a variety of activities each day, including exploring the museum's KidScape area, as well as, art, dance, music, and down time. Be sure to bring your lunch and a water bottle. Snacks are provided. Pre-registration is required.

In all, eight Kids' Day Out programs are remaining through April 2. Each day's program runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm and is limited to 45 participants. To find these programs in the My JCPRD Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under enrichment & special interests. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “museum.”

March Kids' Day Out programs are set for: Friday, March 9 (barcode 41222); Monday, March 12 (barcode 41223); Tuesday, March 13 (barcode 41224); Wednesday, March 14 (barcode 41225); Thursday, March 15 (barcode 41226); Friday, March 16 (barcode 41227); and Friday, March 30 (barcode 41228). The final Kids’ Day Out is set for Monday, April 2 (barcode 41229).

Kids' Day Out sessions take place at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, located at 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. The cost for each 10-hour session is $30 per participant. To register online at www.jcprd.com, click on “Activity Registration,” create or sign into an account, and complete a search for the barcodes listed above.

These programs are also eligible for credit in the Mindfulness dimension for the JCPRD U holistic wellness program for participants ages three to 18. Participants can complete Achievement Classes (similar to academic grade levels) and earn Achievement Badges and Awards. To register for JCPRD U call Nathan at (913) 826-2950.

The Johnson County Museum is a department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District. The My JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
