|Next Wednesday Walk for 50 Plus takes participants to Cedar Crest on Nov. 20|
Beautiful trails near the Kansas Governor's Mansion are the next destination in the fall series of monthly Wednesday Walks being offered by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
The program is called Fall Strolling and the next outing on Nov. 20 will take participants to Topeka's Cedar Crest Trails and the Kansas Governor’s Mansion. Join us on the natural trails that weave through the woods across adventurous terrain. We'll make a special post walk stop at the Kansas Governor’s Mansion for a brief glance inside this historic home. This walk is expected to require a moderate level of exertion.
This outing will take place on a Monday and will depart at 9 a.m. from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam. The cost for this six-hour outing, including van transportation to the walk site, is $19 per person for Johnson County residents or $21 for nonresidents. Participants should bring a sack lunch for a picnic after the walk, and a few dollars in case we decide to stop for ice cream. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359 or register online at jcprd.com.
