|Celebrate Veterans Day with breakfast event on Nov. 9|
Commemorate Veterans’ Day with A Veterans Breakfast being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
During this annual event at the Matt Ross Community Center, participants will enjoy a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast from Chris Cakes. All veterans eat free! Family members and the general public are invited to attend with a $6 charge for breakfast. This year’s entertainment will feature The Kansas City Lyric Opera’s Veteran’s Chorus.
The Veterans Breakfast will take place beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., Overland Park. With the exception of breakfast for non-veterans, there is no charge for this two-hour program, but reservations are required and can be made by calling (913) 642-6410 by Nov. 3.
To find this program in the My JCPRD Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “celebration.” For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online, visit the district's website at www.jcprd.com, click on Activity Registration in the upper left part of the screen and perform a barcode search for 40316.
