|Take part in International Observe the Moon Night on Oct. 28 at Ernie Miller Nature Center|
Join us for a lunar astronomy program at Ernie Miller Nature Center and observe the moon in this internationally-coordinated event during a special event planned in late October at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District’s Ernie Miller Nature Center.
The event is called International Observe the Moon Night and is for all ages, but is recommended for ages five and older with a parent or guardian. Observe the moon through a telescope, learn about lunar phases, make impact craters, and your very own moon journal, and more! Check out the International Observe the Moon Night website at: www.observethemoonnight.org.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under fun for all and then under special events. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “astronomy.”
International Observe the Moon Night will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Ernie Miller Nature Center, 909 North Kansas 7 Highway, Olathe. The cost is $7 per person for Johnson County residents, or $8 for nonresidents. Feel free to bring your own binoculars, blanket, or chairs.
