POSTED: 09/28/2017
The Johnson County Museum is 50 years old this year, and is opening a new temporary exhibit to help celebrate.

The exhibit, titled “Let’s Celebrate: Johnson County Museum is 50!” opens on Oct. 6 and will be available in the museum's changing exhibit gallery through April 14. This exhibit showcases different objects from the museum’s collection that relate to the traditional and modern anniversary gifts. From the first anniversary gift of paper, all the way up to gold for the 50th, come celebrate 50 years of collecting with the museum.

Regular museum admission rates and hours apply to the “Let’s Celebrate" exhibit. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sunday. Regular admission rates are $5 adults, $4 for seniors ages 60 and older, $3 for children, and museum members get in free.

The Johnson County Museum is a department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District. For more information, call the museum at (913) 715-2550.
