|Visit Amelia Earhart's childhood home during 50 Plus Day Trip on Sept. 7|
Visit the birthplace and home of Amelia Earhart during an early September day trip being offered by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Meelie & Her Plane is the name of this trip. Participants will learn all about Earhart 's childhood and see the house she loved so dearly. Lunch will be at Paolucci’s restaurant, and will be followed by a guided tour of historic Atchison. Before returning home, we will go see “Muriel,” an Electra Model 10E airplane, the exact model Amelia flew on her final flight.

This trip will leave at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, and return at approximately 5 p.m. that day. The cost is for this eight and one-half-hour day trip, including admissions, lunch, and transportation, is $79 per person.
