|Pee Wee Fall Soccer League deadlines coming up in early August|
Deadlines are quickly approaching for signing up for the Johnson County Park & Recreation District’s Pee Wee Soccer League at Thomas S. Stoll Park and New Century Fieldhouse. Aug. 4 is the deadline at Stoll, while Aug. 11 is the final deadline at New Century. This program is designed for boys and girls in pre-kindergarten through kindergarten, ages four to six, and games begin Sept. 9.
Like JCPRD leagues for older youth, this league’s philosophy is to enrich the youth of the community via the game of soccer while enhancing participant’s social skills and team play in a fun and exciting sports environment. Boys and girls will be on separate teams. The Pee Wee League will meet on six Saturdays and/or Sundays at Stoll or New Century for a 25-minute practice followed by a 24-minute game. The format is 4 v 4 with no goalie and volunteer coaches.
Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park is located at 12500 W. 119th St., Overland Park, while New Century Fieldhouse is located at 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner.
To find this program in the JCPRD Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under preschool, then under sports. In the catalog and online at at jcprd.soccer.com, look for the keyword “soccer.” Online, click on the leagues tab.
The Stoll Park Pee Wee Soccer League cost is $67 per person. A late registration fee of $15 per person will apply after the Aug. 4 deadline and placement is no longer guaranteed after that date. If your child is new to the league, a jersey must be purchased at a cost of $15. At New Century, the cost is $50 per child until Aug. 4, when it increases to $60, through the final deadline on Aug. 11. Costs for the New Century league include a game day shirt.
