POSTED: 04/19/2017

Journey to the Rolling Hills Zoo near Salina to view more than 100 species of animals during a amid-May day trip being offered by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

Rolling Hills is the name of this trip to this facility located about six miles west of Salina. Once at Rolling Hills, participants will hop on a trolley to see what this 60-acre zoo has to offer, and take part in a private animal presentation. After lunch, travelers will visit the zoo's 64,000-square-foot wildlife museum, which takes visitors around the world to experience the delicate symmetry between humans, animals, and nature in seven unique regions from the arctic to the rainforest. The state-of-the-art animatronic human robots narrate stories of how they weave the thread of their existence into the delicate balance of life. The Museum also features the Helen L. Graves Hideaway Hollow education center with hands-on interactive ways to explore and learn about the wonderful animals on our planet, and discover what surprises await you in our 2,000 square foot Earl Bane Gallery area.
