|Winter Break Volleyball camp offered for grades 3-8 starting Dec. 27|
Providing boys and girls in grades three through eight with basic skills in the game of volleyball is the goal of a Winter Break Volleyball Camp being offered by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This four-day camp will take place over winter break, Tuesday, Dec. 27, through Friday. Dec. 30, at two JCPRD locations: Okun Fieldhouse in the Mid-America West Sports Complex, 20200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, and at the New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner. The program will begin at 9 a.m. at Okun and at 1:30 p.m. at New Century. Participants will be divided into groups based on age and ability. Serving, passing, and setting will be covered. The overall aim is to provide a positive learning environment in which participants can improve their skills. This camp is limited to 100 participants at each site.

The cost for four three-hour sessions is $75 for Johnson County residents or $80 for nonresidents. Each participant will receive a camp T-shirt. These camps are also eligible for credit in the Physical dimension for the JCPRD U holistic wellness program for participants ages three to 18.
