|50 Plus plans Adventure Walk at local apple orchard on Oct. 5|
The Cider Hill Family Orchard in Kansas City, Kan., is the destination for the next adventure walk being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This Cider Hill Family Orchard Adventure Walk is expected to require an easy level of exertion. Participants will practically have the 38-acre orchard and its 1300 apple trees, including 19 different varieties, to themselves, and they have invited adventure walkers to picnic onsite as well! Lunch will be available for purchase on site but needs to be pre-ordered by Sept. 31. Bags will be provided for apple picking, but apple costs are on your own.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under nature & outdoors. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "adventure walk."
This program will leave from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, and return approximately 5 p.m. the same day.
