|Enjoy An Evening Chorus new special event on Sept. 23 in Ernie Miller Park|
Animal communication is the theme of a new Friday night special event scheduled for late September at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District's Ernie Miller Nature Center, 909 N. Kansas 7 Highway, Olathe.
An Evening Chorus is the name of the event, which is for all ages. Katydids and crickets will be singing in the trees and on the ground as night falls in the park, providing the perfect backdrop to learn about how insects and other animals use light, sound, and movement to communicate to others around them. Participants will listen and learn about the marvelous ways animals talk to each other throughout the year. Discover the wonders of the owls, frogs, and insects.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “nature & outdoors.”
