|Visit the Kansas City Japan Festival with 50 Plus Social Outing on Oct. 1|
Japanese cultural presentations, a Haiku contest, music, martial arts, shopping, a tea ceremony, anime, a candy artist, and more are among things participants can experience during an early October social outing being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This program is called Kansas City Japan Festival and will take participants to this annual event hosted by the Heart of America Japan-America Society at the Johnson County Community College. The purpose of the festival is to promote the social, cultural, and educational exchanges between the people of Japan and the Greater Kansas City area.
To find this outing in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under travel. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “social outing.”
