|Take part in Grape Harvest during 50 Plus day trip on Sept. 8|
Enjoy a day in the vineyards at the family-owned Somerset Ridge Winery near Louisburg during a day trip being planned in early September by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This program is called Grape Harvest Wonders and will take participants to meet Somerset owners Dennis and Cindy Reynolds who will share their passion for artisanal wine and the culture of the grapevine. See more than 8,000 vines and 12 different grape varieties grown. Learn about their sustainable farming methods, and pick some grapes to help bring in the harvest at this private event, then head back to the winery for a delicious lunch and wine tasting on the veranda.
