POSTED: 08/03/2016

Register on or before Aug. 15 to secure your spot at the lowest registration price for the ninth-annual Olathe Medical Center Women’s Triathlon & Duathlon. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Kill Creek Park, 11670 Homestead Lane, Olathe, and features a new Micro-Distance option for 2016.

The triathlon will begin at 8 a.m. and involves a 500-meter swim starting and ending at the park’s beach, followed by a 10.6-mile bike consisting of a square loop on county roads to the east of Kill Creek Park, and a 3.1-mile run on park trails.

The new Micro Distance event consists of a 200 meter swim, 4 mile bike, and a 2 mile run. The concept of the Micro Distance is to offer a race that gives participants the experience of a real triathlon without the intimidation. The bike and run portion of the Micro Distance will be located within the park. Micro Distance can be completed as a team/relay.
