|50 Plus plans Adventure Walk on Riverwalk Trail near Junction City on July 27|
Explore the north bank of the Republican River near Junction City during the next adventure walk being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This Riverwalk Trail Adventure Walk is expected to require an easy level of exertion. The 4.8 mile trail, which winds along the Republican River from the outlet tubes of Milford Lake and links up to the new horse trails at Milford lake, to the Washington Street entrance of Fort Riley, is constructed of limestone screenings, making it ideal for beginners and long enough to interest more experienced hikers. The group will have lunch afterwards at Bella’s Italian Restaurant in Junction City, with costs on your own.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under nature & outdoors. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “adventure walk.”
This program will leave from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, at 8 a.m. and return approximately 5 p.m. the same day. The cost for one nine-hour outing, including transportation, is $26 per person for Johnson County residents or $29 for nonresidents.
