|Hand and Foot card tournament planned for July 7 at New Century Fieldhouse|
Hand and Foot is an addictive card game similar to canasta, and those who have caught the bug are invited to an early July tournament being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This Hand and Foot Tournament is planned for Thursday, July 7, at the New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner. Random partners for this event will be assigned onsite. The tournament setup will include more than two hours of play. Teams with the most points at the end of this time will be the winners. The top three scoring teams will be awarded. Snacks will be served. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under enrichment & special interests. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “cards.”
This program will begin at 1 p.m. The cost for this three-hour event is $7 per person for Johnson County residents or $8 per person for nonresidents. For rules or more information about this event, call (913) 826-2859. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online at www.jcprd.com, click on the green “Register for Activities” button and complete a barcode search for 34253.
While JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at (913) 826-3030 for space availability.
The JCPRD’s Activities catalog is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
