Ernie Miller Park Amphitheater programs offered on June 3, 10, 17, & 24
POSTED: 05/12/2016

Bring the family to the Johnson County Park & Recreation District's Ernie Miller Park Amphitheater on Friday evenings during June and July for educational and entertaining programs. The programs last about 45 minutes and are designed for all ages. Programs begin at 7 p.m. A charge of $3 per person paid on-site helps cover the cost of the programs; children two and under are free. Preregistration is not required for these programs.

To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under fun for all and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “nature & outdoors.”

June presentations are:

June 3: Owls - Eyes of the Night - Great Horned, Barred and Screech owls make Ernie Miller Park their home. Join two live owls and us as we discover more about these creatures of the night.

June 10: Stories Under the Stars - Enjoy old-fashioned family fun with stories that will delight the young and the young at heart. Join our park staff as we share stories of animal encounters, mysterious legends, and tales to tickle your funny bone. All ages are welcome to experience in the wonder and magic of storytelling.

June 17: Snakes Alive - Why is it that these animals seem so terrifying? Could all the stories you have heard be true? See Kansas snakes and explore the facts and fallacies of these legless wonders.

June 24: Wildlife Webs - Untangle the Web of Kansas Wildlife as you discover food chains from the forest, pond, and prairie. These food chains will come alive as you learn about a member of each chain. What do these animals eat and who eats them?

Other amphitheater programs planned this summer include: Animal Exploration on July 8, Animal Outhouse on July 15, and Bats! on July 22. For more information on amphitheater programs, call (913) 764-7759.
