Young children can celebrate Earth Day with new program on April 22 at Antioch Park
POSTED: 03/30/2016
It is never too early to teach young children them the importance of keeping the Earth clean and preserving its natural resources and the Johnson County Park & Recreation District is planning a new Earth Day themed program on April 22 to do just that.

This intergenerational program is called I Love Earth Day and is for ages three to six with an adult. Participants will read a great book, do a meaningful art project, and make a cute snack to celebrate Earth Day!

To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under preschool and then under fine & performing arts. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “art.”

I Love Earth Day begins at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 22, on the patio of building A in Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam. The cost for one 40-minute program is $10 per child for Johnson County residents or $11 per child for nonresidents. Because space is limited, reservations are required. To register online at, follow the “Register for Activities” link and do a barcode search for 31784.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
