|New outing set for March 5 will take adult participants Shopping in the Garment District|
Visit Kansas City's historic Garment District during a new Saturday outing being offered for adults by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District in early March.
This program is called Shopping in the Garment District, and is for ages 18 and older. Participants will meet at Antioch Park and travel to this downtown area, which has buildings dating back to the 1870s, many of which are on the National Register of Historic Places. Participants will tour the Historic Garment District Museum which has a unique collection of over 20,000 items and then shop in the unique boutiques and shops until we drop. Please dress for the weather. Shopping and lunch costs are on your own. To find this program in the district's online listings, browse first under adult and then under special events. This trip will leave at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, from Antioch Park 6501 Antioch, Merriam, and return at approximately 3 p.m. that day. The cost for this five and one-half hour outing is $10 per person for Johnson County residents or $11 per person for nonresidents and includes transportation.
