|Next Foodie Fridays program for 50 Plus set for Feb. 19|
Try a new restaurant with a fun and active group of friends during the next offering of a program being offered this winter and early spring by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Foodie Fridays is the name of this program, which offers participants a chance to visit a different restaurant for lunch or dinner on the third Friday of each month. Participants meet at Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam. Transportation to and from the restaurant is provided, and participants are responsible for the cost of food and drinks on their own. Come to one outing or as many as you'd like through April! Please call (913) 826-3160 for more information or to register.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “social outing.”
The next outing will take place beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 and will take participants to Nick & Jake’s. The cost for one two-and-one-half-hour outing with transportation is $10 per person. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online at www.jcprd.com, follow the “Register for Activities” link and do a barcode search for 31957.
Other upcoming restaurant destinations and dates include: The Pour House on March 18 (barcode 31958); and Gojo Japanese Steakhouse on April 15 (barcode 31959).
While JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at (913) 826-3030 for space availability.
Printed copies of JCPRD’s Activities catalog are available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
