|Combination Fitness Class with Caregiver Education on Feb. 5 is next in Dementia Friendly series|
A Combination Fitness Class with Caregiver Education is the next offering in a Dementia Friendly series of programs being offered by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This program is being presented in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association of Kansas City on Friday, Feb. 5.
The idea behind this session is that many caregivers find it difficult to attend education classes and support groups because they do not want to leave their loved one with memory loss at home alone. So for this program, a fitness class for the person with memory-loss will take place simultaneously with an education class for caregivers which will be presented by the Alzheimer’s Association. This fitness program will move at pace appropriate for participants and ensure fitness routines are simple, yet effective.
