|Love in the Afternoon programs for 50 Plus to feature great music and cuisine on Feb. 4, 9, and 12|
A lunch program featuring fine cuisine and exceptional music is being offered three times in early February by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
These special events are called Love in the Afternoon and all three programs begin at noon.
The February programs will have the theme “Isn’t It Romantic?” One program will take place on Thursday, Feb. 4, at the Old Shawnee Town Hall in Herman Laird Park, 11501 W 57th St, Shawnee; another will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10100 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park; and the third program will take place on Friday, Feb. 12 at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park.
The cost for each two-hour program, including lunch and a show, is $15 per ticket, and must be purchased in advance by calling Shawnee Heartland Assisted Living at (913) 839-8856.
Another series of Love in the Afternoon events is planned for April when the theme will be “The Soft Sounds of The Sixties
