|New season of Foodie Fridays program for 50 Plus begins Jan. 15|
Try a new restaurant with a fun and active group of friends during a program being offered this winter and early Spring by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Foodie Fridays is the name of this program, which offers participants a chance to visit a different restaurant for lunch or dinner on the third Friday of each month. Participants meet at Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam. Transportation to and from the restaurant is provided, and participants are responsible for the cost of food and drinks on their own. Come to one outing or to all four planned through April! Please call (913) 826-3160 for more information or to register.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "social outing."
The first outing will take place beginning at 1 p.m. on Jan. 15 and will take participants to Jack Stack Barbecue in Kansas City's Crossroads District. The cost for one two-and-one-half-hour outing with transportation is $10 per person. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online at www.jcprd.com, click on the green "Register for Activities" button and complete a barcode search for 31956.
Other upcoming restaurant destinations and dates include: Nick & Jake's on Feb. 19 (barcode 31957); The Pour House on March 18 (barcode 31958); and Gojo Japanese Steakhouse on April 15 (barcode 31959).
While JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at (913) 826-3030 for space availability.
Printed copies of JCPRD’s Activities catalog are available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
