|Biddy & Itty Biddy Basketball Clinics begin early March|
Two programs meant to teach young children the basics of basketball are being offered in early March by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District. The programs are: Itty Biddy Basketball Clinic for boys and girls age four with a parent, and Biddy Basketball Clinic for girls and boys ages five and six.
Both programs will take place at the Roeland Park Sports Dome, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. To find these programs in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under preschool and/or youth, then under sports. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “basketball clinic.”
Itty Biddy Basketball is designed to help develop fundamental skills in a relaxed atmosphere. Topics to be covered include ball-handling, passing, shooting, and sportsmanship. A parent must participate with their child in this program. This program will be offered at 8 a.m. Saturday beginning March 2. The cost for four 40-minute sessions is $36 for Johnson County residents or $40 for nonresidents.
Biddy Basketball provides participants with instruction in the fundamentals of basketball. Ball-handling techniques, passing, dribbling, shooting, team work, and basic concepts of team strategy are covered with emphasis on sportsmanship. A Biddy Basketball Clinic will be offered starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, also beginning March 2. The cost for six 50-minute sessions is $52 for Johnson County residents or $57 for nonresidents.
