|Tessellation Creation home school art program offered for ages 8-12 beginning Feb. 21|
Math and art come together in a home school art class being offered in late February by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Tessellation Creation is the name of the program, which is for ages eight through 12. During this program, participants will use math skills such as rotation, translation, and reflection to create their own artistic masterpieces in the style of the famous Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under fine and performing arts. Tessellation Creation will take place beginning at 1 p.m. Thursdays beginning Feb. 21 at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. The cost for one two-hour session is $15 for Johnson County Residents or $17 for nonresidents. .
