|Celebrate Laura Ingalls Wilder's birthday with Laura's Legacy program at The Ernie Miller Nature Center on Feb. 9|
Celebrating the birthday of Laura Ingalls Wilder, early Kansas Pioneer and author of the beloved "Little House on the Prairie" books, is the purpose of a special event planned at the Ernie Miller Nature Center in early February.
Laura's Legacy is the name of this event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Ernie Miller Nature Center, at 909 N. Kansas 7 Highway, Olathe. Participants are encouraged to dress like Laura and wear pioneer clothing. There will be a variety of activities for participants to take part in including making rag dolls, experiencing lessons from an 1800's school, and listening to music from the time period. Refreshments will be served as an interpreter tells Laura's favorite stories of her childhood.
