|Dec. 4 is registration deadline for youth Winter 2 Basketball and Volleyball leagues|
Registration materials are now available online for youth Winter 2 Basketball and Volleyball leagues being offered at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District's Okun Fieldhouse, located within the Mid-America West Sports Complex, 20200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee.
These winter programs include Winter Basketball Leagues for boys and girls in grades seven and eight, as well as Winter Volleyball Leagues for boys and girls in grades three through 12.
Registration materials for these programs can be found at www.kcusssasports.com. Both programs have an early bird registration deadline on Nov. 30, followed by a final deadline on Dec. 4, and both offer a $50 discount for teams which meet the early deadline.
While these basketball and volleyball programs are designed for team registrations, individuals seeking teams may complete an individual recruitment form. Attempts will be made to place individuals on a team, but placement is not guaranteed. Based on team numbers, leagues may be divided into recreational, intermediate, and competitive divisions.
Winter Volleyball 2 involves a ten-game season with games taking place on Saturdays. Play will begin Jan. 9 and conclude by March 5.
Winter Basketball 2 involves an eight-game season. Boy's teams will play on Tuesday nights, while girl's teams will play on Thursday nights, and some overflow games will take place on Sundays. The winter season will begin Jan. 3 and conclude by March 6.
The JCPRD’s Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information, call (913) 826-2900.
