|Ernie Miller Nature Center to be closed Dec. 15 - Jan. 5|
As part of an ongoing building expansion project, The Ernie Miller Nature Center, 909 North Kansas 7 Highway, will be closed for about three weeks from mid-December through early January.
Johnson County Park and Recreation District Outdoor Education Manager Bill McGowan said the building will be closed from Monday, Dec. 15 through Monday, Jan. 5. During this time, a fire sprinkler system will be installed in both the new and older portions of the nature center and various other work including reconfigurations of doors and windows will take place.
Work on the expansion project began in late August. With an early 2004 completion anticipated, the addition will increase the Nature Center's space by about 5,800 square feet.
