|Next Foodie Fridays program for 50 Plus is Nov. 20|
The next outing in the Foodie Fridays program for 50 Plus is being offered on Nov. 20 by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Foodie Fridays is the name of this program, which began in September and offers participants a chance to visit a different restaurant for dinner on the third Friday of each month. Participants meet at Antioch Park. Transportation to and from the restaurant is provided, and participants are responsible for the cost of food and drinks on their own.
Please call (913) 826-3160 for more information or to register. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "Social Outing."
The November event will take place beginning at 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 and take participants to J. Alexander’s steakhouse. The cost for one two-and-one-half-hour outing with transportation is $10 per person. For more information, call (913) 826-3160. To register online at www.jcprd.com, click on the green "Register for Activities" button and complete a barcode search for 29913. The final Foodie Friday event this season will go to Stroud’s restaurant on Dec. 18 (barcode 29914). To register by phone, call (913) 831-3359.
While JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at (913) 826-3030 for space availability.
Printed copies of JCPRD’s Activities catalog are available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
