First Fridays for Kids for ages 8-12 session set for Nov. 6 at RPCC
POSTED: 10/15/2015

First Fridays for Kids ages eight to 12 continues on Nov 6. This program is being presented by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park.

Kids are invited to leave the grown-ups behind and enjoy a night planned just for them on the first Friday of the month for the rest of the year. Participants can make new friends and let their imaginations run wild with themed activities. Dinner is included.

To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under enrichment and special interests. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "special events."

The next program will run from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 6, when the theme is "Food Frenzy." The cost for one three-hour event, including dinner, is $16 per child for Johnson County residents or $18 per child for nonresidents. For more information or to register, call (913) 826-3160. To register online at www.jcprd.com, follow the "Register for Activities" link and complete a barcode search for 30131. The final First Fridays for Kids session on the year is set for Dec. 4, when the theme is DIY (barcode 30132). Please register by the Monday prior to each session by calling (913) 826-3160.

These programs are also eligible for credit in the Social dimension for the JCPRD U holistic wellness program for participants ages three to 18. Participants can complete Achievement Classes (similar to academic grade levels) and earn Achievement Badges and Awards. To register for JCPRD U, call (913) 826-2950.

Printed copies of JCPRD’s Activities catalog are available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
