New First Fridays for Kids for ages 8-12 begins Sept. 4 at RPCC
POSTED: 08/05/2015
Children ages eight to 12 are invited to make the first Friday of each month kids' night for the remainder of the year. This new program is being presented by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park.

First Fridays for Kids is the name of this program. Kids are invited to leave the grown-ups behind and enjoy a night planned just for them. Participants can make new friends, and let their imaginations run wild with themed activities. Dinner is included.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under enrichment and special interests. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "special events."

The first program will run from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 4, when the theme is "Glow in the Dark." The cost for one three-hour event, including dinner, is $16 per child for Johnson County residents or $18 per child for nonresidents. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online at, follow the "Register for Activities" link and complete a barcode search for 30129. Other First Fridays for Kids sessions include: Oct. 4, when the theme is Lego®-mania (barcode 30130); Nov. 6, when the theme is Food Frenzy (barcode 30131); and Dec. 4, when the theme is DIY (barcode 30132).
