|Ernie Miller Nature Center to be closed Oct. 24-27|
As part of a building expansion project, the Ernie Miller Nature Center, 909 North Kansas 7 Highway, will be closed for what will amount to a four-day weekend in late October.
Johnson County Park and Recreation District Interpretation Manager Bill McGowan said the building will be closed from Friday Oct. 24 through Monday, Oct. 27 because the center will be without power during that time as it is in the process of receiving new electrical service. It should be noted that with the Nature Center’s Tuesday-through-Sunday schedule, it is normally closed on Monday.
Work on the expansion project began in late August. With an early 2004 completion anticipated, the addition will increase the Nature Center's space by about 5,800 square feet.
