|Roeland Park Aquatic Center to close early on July 4 and 9|
The Roeland Park Aquatic Center will close early on two days in early July in order to host local swim meets, Johnson County Park & Recreation District officials announced.
The facility, which is located at 4843 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park, will close at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, and at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, for meets being hosted by the Stingrays Swim & Dive Team. Normal summer hours, which include lap swimming from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday from noon to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., as well as open swim hours from noon to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, will resume the following day. The Stingrays, which are a summer team based at RPAC, compete within the Johnson County Swim and Dive League.
