See a T-Bones game during Batter UP! 50 Plus Social Outing on July 8
POSTED: 06/10/2015
Check out Sizzle the Bull and the speedy T-Bones during an early July social outing being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

This program is called Batter UP! and will take participants to see the T-Bones play the Grand Prairie Texas Groundhogs at the Community America Ballpark at the Legends in Kansas City, Kan. Participants should plan on lunch on their own at the stadium.

To find this trip in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "social outing."

This outing will leave at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, and will return about 3:30 p.m. that day. Multiple pick-up locations are planned if the minimum number of participants are met. These could include: Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam; Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park; and the Sunset Building, 11811 S. Sunset Dr., Olathe. Be sure to indicate your pick-up preference when registering.

The cost for this outing is $28 per person and includes a ticket and transportation. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online at, follow the “Register for Activities” link and do a barcode search for 28627.

While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
