|Love in the Afternoon programs for 50 Plus to feature great music and cuisine on April 3 & 7|
A lunch program featuring fine cuisine and exceptional music is being offered twice in early April by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District's 50 Plus Department.
The event is called Love in the Afternoon. Both programs begin at noon. The first program will take place on Friday, April 3, at Lenexa Baptist Church, 15320 W. 87th St. Parkway, Lenexa, and the other will take place on Tuesday, April 7, at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall, Kansas City, Mo.
To find these program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "musical entertainment."
The cost for each two-hour program, including lunch and a show, is $15 per ticket, and must be purchased in advance by calling Shawnee Heartland Assisted Living at (913) 248-6688.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
The JCPRD's Activities catalog is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches.
