Lee's Summit's Legacy Park is October destination for 50 Plus fall Strolling program
POSTED: 09/18/2014
Leisurely stroll through Lee's Summit's Legacy Park during the next Wednesday Walks program offering being presented by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

Legacy Park is a 692-acre facility featuring a 22-acre lake, various sports fields, an amphitheater, and a 4.7-mile trail. This one-mile walk is expected to require an easy level of exertion. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under nature & outdoors. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords "Wednesday walks.”

This outing will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 8, and will depart at 9 a.m. from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam. The cost for this six-hour outing, including van transportation to the walk site, is $18 per person for Johnson County residents or $20 for nonresidents. Participants should bring a sack lunch for a picnic after the walk, and some money in case the group decides to stop for ice cream.

The final Wednesday walk this fall will take place on Nov. 19, when participants will walk the trails at Wyandotte Lake.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at
