|Location change announced for tonight’s strategic planning open house in Blue Valley, while Antioch Library session to proceed as planned|
Due to an air conditioning malfunction, the Johnson County Park & Recreation District’s strategic planning open house originally scheduled for this evening (Aug. 26) at the Blue Valley Library has been moved to the Blue Valley Recreation Activity Center, 6545 W 151st Street. This meeting, along with another open house planned at the Antioch Library, 8700 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Merriam, will both take place tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. JCPRD apologizes for the inconvenience.
Additional previously-planned open houses will also take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Mill Creek Middle School, 8001 Mize Boulevard, Lenexa, and at New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner.
These open houses are meant to provide opportunities for the public to assist with the development of a new strategic plan for JCPRD. During the meetings, a team of planning consultants will join district staff at each of the four locations. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend and participate at any time during the three-hour period.
The district’s consulting team is headed by SWT Design of St. Louis, and includes planning strategists from De Soto-based Indigo Design, VSR Design of Overland Park, Ballard*King & Associates of Highlands Ranch, CO, and ETC Institute of Olathe.
Members of the public unable to attend one of the open houses can still contribute to the planning process by submitting their thoughts and suggestions to email@example.com. Comments can also be mailed to: JCPRD Strategic Plan, SWT Design, 7722 Big Bend Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63119.
