|Pooches and Pies day trip set for Sept. 9|
The trip is called Pooches and Pies. Participants will journey to Washington, Kansas, which is located north of Junction City near the Nebraska border. Travelers will first visit the unique Kansas Specialty Dog Service, to learn how service and guide dogs are trained to provide assistance to people with visual or physical disabilities. Following a catered on-site lunch, the group will visit Marcon Pies, home of delicious desserts. Learn how this company went from making pies in the kitchen to selling for restaurants and supermarkets. Bring home a pie or two!

This trip will leave at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, and return at approximately 6 p.m. The cost is $69 per person and includes lunch. Register early as seating is limited.
While JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
