|Sept. 5 is registration deadline for Girls on the Run track program for grades 3-5|
This program is called Girls on the Run. Using a well-researched curriculum, the program teaches life lessons through fun interactive games combined with training for a noncompetitive end of season 5K event on Nov. 22 at Arrowhead Stadium. The registration deadline for the fall session is Sept. 5.
Girls on the Run is offered on Monday and Wednesday beginning Sept. 15 at two locations. One class takes place beginning at 5:45 p.m. at the Mill Creek Activity Center, 6518 Vista Dr., Shawnee, while the other takes place at 4:15 p.m. at New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner.
To find this program in the JCPRD Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth, then under sports. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “track.”
