|New Back to School Bash is Aug. 16 at Roeland Park Aquatic Center|
Come have one more fun day at the pool before it's time to resume the school routine during a new special event being planned at the Roeland Park Aquatic Center.
The event is called Back to School Bash and will take place beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. Lots of games, fun music, and lots of laughs are being planned. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under fun for all, and then under special events. In the catalog, look for the keywords “Family Fun.”
The cost for this two-hour event is $3 for Johnson County residents or $4 for nonresidents.
The aquatic center will close approximately 15 minutes before this event and will resume its regular open swim and lap swimming schedule about 6 p.m. on this day.
The Roeland Park Aquatic Center is located at 4843 Rosewood Dr., just east of the Roeland Park Community Center. It is owned by the City of Roeland Park and operated by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
The Roeland Park Community Center features an C-shaped 50-meter pool with zero-depth entry and a maximum depth of 13 feet. Other features include: a 25 yard by 25 meter competitive area; four 50-meter swimming lanes; and a bath house with lockers and a family change area. The facility also offers swim instruction for all ages, water exercise programs, and a variety of special events.
