|The Wizard of Oz is the first of eight August movies at The Theatre in the Park|
An Aug. 5 screening of “The Wizard of Oz” is the first of eight movies being shown during August as part of The Theatre in the Park’s summer Movies in the Park program.
Through this program, a variety of films are being shown on a 40-foot screen on the theatre stage on specified nights when musical productions are not scheduled. Once the theatre’s regular season of Broadway-style musicals comes to a close on Aug. 9, family-friendly films move to Saturdays and some classic films of more adult interest will be shown on each Tuesday night through August.
All films will begin at 8:45 p.m. and the cost is $1 per person, paid on-site.
August movies will include an Aug. 5 showing of a special edition of “The Wizard of Oz;” an Aug. 12 showing of “When Harry Met Sally;” an Aug. 16 showing of “The Goonies;” an Aug. 19 showing of the “Easter Parade” starring Fred Astaire and Judy Garland; an Aug. 23 double feature of “Peter Pan” and “Cinderella;” an Aug. 26 showing of “Some Like It Hot” with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon; and an Aug. 30 showing of “The Lego Movie.”
